Brighton to Lewes Canal Notice of intension to bring a bill in the next session of Parliament

Notice is hereby given
That
application is intended to be made in the next Session of Parliament,
for leave to bring in a Bill, for making a Navigable Canal or a Rail
Road, from the river Ouse, commencing at or near the town of Lewes, in
the county of Sussex, and running to or near to the town of
Brighthelmstone, in the said county: also for making and constructing
Dams, Locks, Basins, Mills, Warehouses, Warfs, Yards, Bridges, Towing
Paths, Roads, Tunnels, Aqueducts, Mains, Feeders, Sewers, Reservoirs,
Pipes, Drains, Sluices, Conduits, Rail or Tram Roads, and other
necessary works: also for collecting together the waters of the
Cockshut Spring Ditch, and other springs in the parish of Saint John
the Baptist Southover, in the said county, or any of the other parishes
hereafter mentioned, and supplying therewith from the Mains, Feeders,
Reservoirs, Basins, and Locks, of the said Canal, the inhabitants of
the towns and parishes of Brighthelmstone, Lewes, Preston, Patcham,
Saint John the Baptist Southover, All Saints', Saint Michael's, Saint
John under the Castle, Saint Peter and Saint Mary Westout otherwise
Saint Anne, Saint Thomas in the Cliff otherwise Cliff, Saint John, and
South Mailing, all in the said county; and for making, placing, and
erecting Engines; laying, repairing, extending, and constructing
Reservoirs, Pipes, Drains, Sluices, Conduits, Aqueducts, and other
works for the purposes and also for making Rail or Tram Roads,
leading to, or conducting from the towns and parishes aforesaid, to the
Reservoirs, Locks, and Basins, Mills, Warehouses, Wharfs, Yards, and
Towing Paths, of the said Canal, which said Canal, with the Dams,
Locks, Basins, Roads, Mills, Warehouses, Wharfs, Yards, Bridges, Roads,
Towing Paths, Tunnels, Aqueducts, Mains, Feeders, Sewers, Reservoirs,
Pipes, Drains, Sluices, Conduits, Engines, Rail or Tram Roads; and
other works are intended to be made, placed, erected, laid, extended,
and carried in and through the several parishes, townships, and places
following, that is to say, Saint John the Baptist Southover, Kingston,
All Saints', Saint Michael's, Saint John under the Castle, Saint Peter
and Saint Mary Westout otherwise Saint Anne, Saint Thomas in the Cliff
otherwise the Cliff, Saint John's, South Mailing, Falmer, Patcham,
Stanmer, Preston, and Brighthelmstone, all in the said county. It is
intended to take power by the said Act, to take and purchase lands to
complete the several works connected with, or relating to the above
undertaking; and also for fixing, collecting, and taking tolls, rents,
rates, and dues, for the use of the said Canal, Locks, Bridges,
Feeders, Mains, Drains, Aqueducts, Roads, Pipes, Conduits, Reservoirs,
Basins, Mills, Warehouses, Wharfs, Yards, Towing Paths, Tunnels, Rail,
or Tram Roads, Water, and Water Works.Dated the 11th day of November, 1825.
