14 men from Falmer and Stanmer are listed as having lost their lives in the First World War.

Renewed Memories of a War's Victims
The newly-renovated war memorial in Falmer was re-dedicated last night.
The parish council has repaired and restored the memorial which has stood in Middle Street, Falmer, since the 1920s.
A former horse trough has been converted into a flower holder and the plaque dedicating it to the dead of World War I has been remade by 82-year-old retired master carpenter Owen Williams.
The ceremony was conducted by the Vicar, the Rev. Andrew Robinson.
The Revd. Andrew Robinson was the Vicar of Falmer with Stanmer from 1980 to 2012.
