The Apex Self-Build Scheme in Heath Hill AvenueInformation from Beverley Webster nee Feast.
My father Len Feast was the chairman of the Apex Self-Builders
and a local Police Officer. We lived in the Police Houses in Auckland
Drive before he became involved in the scheme.

in Heath Hill Avenue. Prefabricated houses in the background.
I remember young men turning up at the door hoping to be included in this as it was such an opportunity for them. This was around 1957 I think, as I had just started at Stanmer School when it all began and I am sure that we moved in around 1960, one of the last bungalows to be completed.
Sadly he died in 1969 a young man of 53 years, but such a fun person and I am sure everyone who worked or knew him will remember!
